The study, titled ‘Webcast-Aided Collaborative Learning: A feasible strategy for Chinese students studying in the UK?’, is a research study aiming to find out whether and how university webcasts could help Chinese students improve their language competence and enhance their understanding of subject matters. It also investigates how webcasts should be used to facilitate collaborative learning and what qualities are essential for the students to be competent in the network society. The research is undertaken with and for Chinese students studying in the UK. It is undertaken by ZhiMin Xiao, a MSc student at the Department of Education, Oxford University.
Webcasts are recorded lectures or events made online for students to download and play back. You can find some examples at Yale University or UC Berkeley.
