Q1.The organisational status of the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) is considered to be the biggest hurdle in the pace of its growth and development.
Q2.Do you think that Karachi Stock Exchange shall be working as a Public Ltd. Company, not as a Guarantee Limited Company (a non profit organisation), in order to compete with other famous stock exchanges like London Stock Exchange and Nordic Stock Exchange, Stockholm?
Q3.Demutualization and incorporation is necessary for the overall development of the KSE. Q4.Demutualise structure of the exchange supports in establishing an alliance or joint venture and also in mergers. Q5.KSE lacks demutualise structure which provides better access to the new products and new markets and increases the performance and transparency in trading.
Q6.Karachi Stock Exchange needs to motivate the regional and multinational companies to get them on the list of KSE indices. Q7.KSE needs improvements to gain the trust of local investors. Q8.KSE is competitive against rival international stock exchange to attract international investors. Q9.For KSE, cross border listings will increase the confidence of the international investors. Q10.Listing requirements and rules and regulations should be different for new, small and medium size capital companies and will also motivate small local companies to come on the list of Karachi Stock Exchange.
Q11.In comparison of leading stock markets, KSE has initial level of automation technology which is good enough to support the current numbers of instruments and trading volume.
Q12.KSE needs more advanced clearing and settlement system to compete with rivals. Q13.Currently KSE is only dealing in the future contract of shares and index but it also needs to start trading in international derivative markets call and put option of securities and indices, convertibles, warrants and swaps, as they are very famous and common instruments to trade
