The Culture Survey

To Fellow Indian citizens in Germany,

You might have often discussed and debated how well you and other Indians around you in Germany adjusted to life in an environment which is very different from the one we were brought up in, things you miss about home and things you miss about Germany when you visit home.

I study at the University of Munich and am involved in a research project that tries to systematically study these issues. I would like to invite you to participate in a survey about the very same comparisons between life, routines and values in the two countries that so often crop up in our small expatriate community.

The objective of this survey is to quantify your responses and find out what we think about these issues and problems as a group. We hope a better understanding of these issues will eventually help in a better integration of the Indian community in Germany. The results will be published in the relevant academic journals besides being sent to the authorities that are responsible for our community matters like the Indian Embassy and DAAD.

In order to obtain reliable results, I need at least 100 responses from fellow Indian students. I would really appreciate if you could take out 15 minutes to answer this survey.

Your responses will be strictly confidential and data from this research will be reported only in the aggregate. If you have questions at any time about the survey or the procedures, you can contact me at [email protected].

Please feel free to forward this survey to other Indian students you know in Germany.

Thank you very much in advance for your time and support!

Best regards,
Anjali Choudhary
