You are invited to participate in our survey to determine your level of support for federal government spending on the space program versus other federal programs. This survey will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete the questionnaire.

Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. There are no foreseeable risks associated with this project. However, if you feel uncomfortable answering any questions, you can withdraw from the survey at any point. It is very important for us to learn your opinions for our research. This program has come up with many new technologies to include:

- An improved artificial heart
- A device that helps grow human tissue for transplant
- A device that helps diagnose central nervous system disorders
- A device that analyzes blood much faster
- New ways to clear left over mine fields
- A device that can kill brain tumors in children
- Improved prosthetics (artificial limbs)

I support allocating $135 billion from the federal budget over 13 years ($10.4 billion a year) for programs that have helped create new technologies related to healthcare, new materials, occupational hazard safety, manufacturing processes, etc.

Some of the many new devices include:

- Improved kidney dialysis machines
- Cool suits that help people with multiple sclerosis and children with hypohidrotic ectodermal displasia (a congenital disorder). It is also worn by shipyard workers, nuclear reactor technicians and race car drivers for safety.
- Improved water purification for cities and town.
- A device that detects hazardous gases, protecting workers and helping to keep the environment clean.

- An air purifier that aids in keeping fruits and vegetables fresh
- Robotic arms that has helped with physical therapy, rehabilitation and assisted living
- Cameras that are used in non-invasive surgery
- Hardware used in firefighting, gas fittings and nuclear reactors that make repairs faster,reducing a workers exposure to danger
- A head set that helps those who are near blind to see
- A safety device that alerts pilots, mountain climbers, scuba divers and more about worsening pressure altitude saving them from hypoxia
