How often do you use E-mail in the workplace? How often do you use Instant Messaging (AIM, YAHOO, MSN) in the workplace? Are you aware of the SEC and NASD regulations regarding logging and viewing of e-mail and Instant Messages? Do you feel as if these monitoring practices are a violation of your right to privacy? Do you feel as if your civil rights are being infringed upon as a result of this monitoring? If aware of the monitoring practices in place, do you think twice about what you may be communicating in an e-mail or Instant Message? If dealing with the trading of stocks, bonds, etc. do you rely upon e-mail and Instant Messaging as your main source of communication with clients? Hypothetically, if e-mail and Instant Messaging were banned by the SEC, would this drastically affect your trading practices? Do you agree with the regulations that the SEC and the NASD have set forth to help avoid insider trading? Could you get through a normal day without the use of e-mail and Instant Messaging?
