Please imagine that you are using an E-House function, in which you can discover and interact with smart objects in your house with the help of a 2D map view on your iPhone. You can touch the exact device group icon to interact with it. Now there is the sketch paper prototype of this design idea on iPhone.
The following picture shows the icon design of different device groups.
There are multi-media device group, e-health device group, home electronic appliance device group and PC & game machine device group.
How do you feel about the icon design?
The following picture is the 2D map view showed on your mobile phone when you enter your living room.
How do you feel about to recognize each smart object and their position? Would you like the furniture information showing in the map?
For example, there are a couch, a table and a bed information in the above 2D map picture. Would you like to know the exact place of each smart device from the map view?
For example, TV is on the TV stand, iPod is on the table, Nintendo Wii is in the cabinet. Look at the following picture. When you hold the hifi System icon, it will pop up the basic introduction message note.
When you hold a device icon, it will pop up a message note which describes the name, services and the position of this device.
