University/Industry Collaboration in Australia


You are invited to participate in a study of University/Industry Collaboration in Australia. We hope to learn the success factors that contribute to an overall successful University/Industry Collaboration in Australia. You were selected as a possible participant in this study because you are involved in a collaborative form or relationship between an Australian University and its Industry Partners.

If you decide to participate, you will complete an online survey which takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes. The survey creates an opportunity to assess success factors that power the University/Industry Collaboration in Australia. Through this research, we aim to better understand University/Industry Collaboration that Australian Universities are involved in, and identify ways these can be improved for a better collaborative experience for both Industry and University partners. We cannot and do not guarantee or promise that you will receive any benefits from this study.

As this is an online survey, completion of this survey will be counted as official consent. By selecting "I Agree", you are consenting to this survey.

Any information that is obtained in connection with this study and that can be identified with you will remain confidential and will be disclosed only with your permission, except as required by law. If you give us your permission by signing this document, we plan to both publish and present these results in the academic community. A similar study has been completed in Sweden, so these results will be significant in drawing comparisons between University/Industry Collaborations in Sweden versus in Australia. In any publication, information will be provided in such a way that you cannot be identified.

Complaints may be directed to the Ethics Secretariat, The University of New South Wales, SYDNEY 2052 AUSTRALIA (phone 9385 4234, fax 9385 6648, email [email protected]). Any complaint you make will be investigated promptly and you will be informed out the outcome.

In the list below you will find 16 University-Industry Collaboration success factors. In the fields provided you need to decide on a weight for each factor relative to the others. The weight should reflect how important you perceive the factor to be in relation to the other factors. The weight for the factor should be between 0 and 1000. Thus, you do not have to provide weights for every factor, i.e. if you do not think it is at all important. Furthermore, if a factor is regarded twice as important as another factor then it should receive twice as high weight. The total sum of the weights must be 1000 when you are ready.
