You are invited to participate in my survey for an assignment I'm doing to complete my Bachelor of Arts degree. I'm conducting research into online communities and your responses will help me to answer the following questions:
How does a women's participation in online communities influence her perception of cyberspace? Is her involvement merely an extension of her offline life or does cyberspace represent another place to interact?
In this survey, the members of the Birthtalks online community will be asked to answer questions about your participation in Birthtalks, and how you feel about being involved in online communities on the Internet. It will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete the questionnaire.
Catherine and Sandra (Birthtalks moderators) have very kindly given me permission to requestion your participation in this study which is completely voluntary. If you feel uncomfortable answering any questions, you can withdraw from the survey at any point. I really value your opinions and thoughts on this topic and hope you will help me with my research.
Your survey responses will be stricly confidential and data from this research will be reported only in the aggregate. Your information will be coded and will remain confidential. You have my personal assurance that the data collected will only be used for my assignment.
