QuestionPro Feature Survey (A) - COPIED [fehtyynod

Hello:

You are invited to participate in my survey on school scheduling.

In recent years, school schedules have become a highly debated topic in education. Researchers are frequently asking if a school’s schedule impacts the academic achievement of students. The two most commonly studied schedules are the traditional and the blocked schedule.

Past research has shown that the type of schedule rarely has a significant impact on standardized test scores, but school schedules do appear to have a noticeable difference on other aspects of students’ educational experiences including discipline, instructional techniques, and student engagement. As an example, schools with block schedules often will have less disciplinary infractions, as students change classes only four times per day, leaving them in the hallways unsupervised fewer times each day. In addition to simply asking if a school’s schedule impacts student achievement, I am also questioning if there is a particular difference in achievement for particular types of learners.

In this survey, approximately 100 people will be asked to complete a survey that asks questions about their experiences and observations as a teacher. It will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete the questionnaire.

Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. There are no foreseeable risks associated with this project. However, if you feel uncomfortable answering any questions, you can withdraw from the survey at any point. It is very important for us to learn your opinions.

Your survey responses will be stricly confidential and data from this research will be reported only in the aggregate. Your information will be coded and will remain confidential. If you have questions at any time about the survey or the procedures, you may contact Jess Furman at [email protected].

I am also looking to personally interview teachers that have first hand experience teaching under both block and traditional schedules. If you have experience with both types of schedules and are interested in being interviewed (approximately 30-45 minutes in length), please contact me at: [email protected].

Thank you very much for your time and support. Please start with the survey now by clicking on the Continue button below.
