About This Questionnaire
Would you be able to answer Nine very short multiple choice questions on two previous IT projects completed in the last 3 years? If so it would be very much appreciated if you could read on. THIS QUESTIONNAIRE SHOULD TAKE NO LONGER THAN 5 MINUTES
The study itself
The aim of this dissertation is to retrieve information on UK based IT technical development projects that reflect the current state of IT project success rates. This means that information on projects that have been completed in the last 3 years is highly relevant and what this questionnaire seeks. After the information from projects has been collected and analysed, a dissertation shall be written on why some projects succeed and why others fail. This shall then provide statistically supported advice for how to achieve project success. A final summary leaflet will then be produced with supporting evidence of the best steps to take in order to ensure that projects in the future are successful.
In order to fully understand success it is vital that we also understand failure. Despite the title of this project relating to software project success, a large amount of my investigation will involve projects that involve failure. This means the project may have run over budget, run over time schedules or not delivered the functionality originally provided within the specification. These projects are very relevant to the dissertation as understanding why certain projects fail will provide comparisons against what was done differently from those that succeed.
The Online Questionniare Itself
The online questionnaire asks 9 questions to retrieve information on two previous development projects undertaken in the past 3 years. Anyone involved in IT project work is eligable to take the questionnaire. If you do not know the information to any part of the questionnaire, simply move on to the next question.
Why complete this questionnaire?
Completion of this questionnaire makes you eligable for receiving an electrical copy of the complete study in May 2007 this should allow you to benefit from the shared knowledge from the projects that contributed. The final question of this online questionnaire asks you to provide an email address if you wish to receive an electrical copy of the study.
