You are invited to participate in a research study assessing relationship satisfaction. You were selected as a possible participant based on your current relationship status (dating or married). I ask that you read this form prior to participating in the study. You must be 18 years of age or older in order to participate.
This study is being conducted by Hilda Lai (Senior Psychology Major) and Dr. Kerrie Baker (Associate Professor of Psychology), of Cedar Crest College.
Background Information The purpose of this study is to assess relationship satisfaction based on participants’ personality and how participants view their relationship with their partners. The results collected will be used to determine whether these variables affect one another.
Procedures If you agree to be in this study, we would ask you to follow the instructions given in each of the four sections of the questionnaire. For each section, answer the questions based on your first instinct. The answers should be based on your own personal experiences and there are no right or wrong answers. The entire study should take no more than 15 minutes to complete.
Risks and Benefits There are no perceived risks in participating in this study. Cedar Crest College students may receive extra credit points from approved classes.
Confidentiality Responses to all questionnaire items are anonymous, and all records of this study will be kept confidential and private. In any sort of report that might be published, no information will be included that would make it possible to identify a subject. Research records will be kept in the Psychology Department of Cedar Crest College for three year, where only the researchers will have access to the records. Records will be destroyed after May, 2011.
Right to Withdraw If you decide to participate, you are free to withdraw at any time. Your decision of whether or not to participate will not affect your current or future relations with Cedar Crest College or questionpro.com.
