Strategy Development Questionnaire

This questionnaire considers the process by which strategy is developed within organisations. The questionnaire is designed to discover your perceptions of how strategic decisions are made in your organisation.

Strategic decisions are those which are characterised by a large commitment of resources and deal with issues of substantial importance to the organisation, usually with longer rather than just short term impact or significance; they usually involve more than one change.

The following pages comprise a number of statements. When considering these statements please:

Assume each applies to the organisational unit most relevant to you, for example the corporate whole, a single business unit or a division and respond to the statements as such.

Think of your organisation as it exists at present, not as it has existed in the past or how you would like it to exist in the future

Evaluate each statement in terms of the extent to which you agree or disagree with it in relation to your organisation.

Thank you for your co operation.

Please answer all the statements (it will take approximately 10 minutes to complete)

Give the answer that first occurs to you. Please do not give an answer because you feel it is the right thing to say or you feel it is how things should be. There are no right or wrong answers.
