Solar-Electric cars

I am researching consumer interest in electric cars that receive energy from a 110V electrical outlet but also have solar cells on the roof to obtain additional energy. I seek to learn if consumers want a solar-electric car as a second, around-town only vehicle with a limited speed (such as a Neighborhood Electric Vehicle), or as a vechicle with speed and range capabilities similar to a standard car. Do consumers want to purchase a solar-electric car as a supplement or a replacement for their current/primary car?
