The relation between computer configuration and software equipment

This project researches the relations between hardware and software (hardware requirements of an application, methods of code optimization or ways of increasing the power of personal computers). The key point in research is a questionare that probes the motivation of customers. The question is: do people buy new hardware because of not fast enough applications or do they buy hardware first without thinking of performance?
