Organizational Safety Culture Survey Reliability and Validity Study

To pilot two measures of organizational safety culture, the Safety Attitude Questionnaire (SAQ) and the Safety Organization Scale (SOS) and determine the most appropriate instrument for use in my dissertation research, in which I plan to study the relationship of organizational safety culture and nursing sensitive quality indicators (NSQIs). The present issue is that the SAQ is long, but popularly used and accepted. The SOS is short but new, and thus untested, but offers a potential choice for reducing respondent burden in research. A reliability and validity comparison for the two instruments has not been reported but would provide data to know if the SOS is a potential replacement for the SAQ.
