The Role of Competitive Intelligence In Business Intelligence

The purpose of this research is to explore the role of CI in BI systems. The research will compare the perceptions of competitive intelligence of managers who are associated with BI systems, with those of IT personnel who are developing these systems. The research will also explore what sort of CI capabilities, if any, do the managers expect from their BI systems and how this is incorporated or not by the developers of such systems. The aim is to explore the existing view of CI, as understood by managers and IT personnel and lay down the foundations for further academic research as well as industry practice.
