Like others in this situation, you are eager to do his best, having been on the job market for a while without much success.
As luck would have it, you get a little sick with flu-like symptoms.
Anxious to avoid that coming in the way of your job interview, you go to the pharmacy to see what you can get.
In the pharmacy, you see two medications, as follows:
Brand A: Promises lower side effects compared to the average brand.
Brand B: Promises better relief compared to the average brand.
You pick up Brand B, the one that promises better relief, and take it immediately.
Sure enough, you get good relief.
But then, just before the interview you experience some side effects, especially stomach cramps.
This causes you to do not so very well in your interview.
You find out that you scored only 20 points out of 50, which was far below average.
You were eliminated in the first round, and had no opportunity to go to the second round in which points from the first round are added to the points from the second round when determining how good the candidate is.
