Wowza

Wowza.co.nz was founded in 2005 as part of two University of Canterbury students� masters projects. After winning Entr� in 2006 Wowza established itself in the Christchurch marketplace offering discounts and deals from businesses to consumers throughout town. Businesses pay Wowza to place promotional coupons on their site, which users can print out and redeem in store. The business is fast-paced with constant growth in their offerings to retailers and consumers. With the trial in Christchurch nearing completion, they are looking to expand both the Wowza website and into new markets. Wowza currently appeals to a younger, mostly student, market by offering deals for entertainment, alcohol at liquor stores and drinks specials at bars. There is also a large beauty section appealing to females. Limited research has been undertaken by the Wowza team so far.
