Project Description

Health and Fitness Clubs for Baby Boomers

Project Abstract

Research has showed that health clubs tends to miss out on the growing older population. The grey market is not enthusiastic about current offers from health and fitness clubs. Health clubs must provide a format that engages the growing older population. Thus, in order to investigate what the older population expect, questionnaires will be used to gather a general perception of what consumers desire (expectations) from health clubs (service).

The questionnaire will consist of 22 items investigating ServQual dimensions in terms of service expectations. That will be investigated on a 5 point Likert scale

Research Objectives:
To what extent does the grey market spend on recreational activities?
How frequent do the over 50s population exercise?
What do the over 50s population expect from a health club?
What do the over 50s population consider to be of most importance in terms of facilities and activities.
