It is our pleasure to host the 5th annual Blues PMO Summit. One of our goals for 2011 is leveraging the efforts and contributions of the previous hosts, while offering new twists to program content and new networking opportunities.

We want this Summit to be your event - that we happen to host. We are hoping for heightened engagement amongst our sister plans while planning this event; and hope this engagement carries forward during the event itself.

We'd appreciate it if you would take a few minutes and answer this short audiene preference survey. Your responses will provide guidance to us in refining the agenda and providing the right set of topics and discussions to meet your interests.

Here are the HIGH LEVEL THEMES we are considering for the 2011 Summit. Please read each description, then indicate your level of interest in each theme.

Future of Corporate IT – What are the trends that will shape how the IT function will look in 3-5 years. Will focus on department configuration, outsourcing, use of contracted resources vs. employees. Explore the implications for PMOs and how best to position this service.
IT Governance – What is the right mix of process and control vs. flexibility in operations and in delivery? Explore the growing importance of service level agreements, strategic sourcing arrangements, vendor management, etc. What are the unique challenges in project management and delivery in environments with outsourced arrangements?
Use of Social Media – Explore the exploding trends in social media. Which trends/tools are most applicable to the workplace – in Sales and Service. How can management use these tools to become more effective delivery managers? What are emerging best practices?
Blues Survey – This is a potential informal, unscientific survey across the sister plans, identifying trends in Corporate IT, IT Governance, Use of Social Media, Governing Tools, Accountability in PMO’s, Outsourcing/Offshoring. Alternately, it could focus on broader topics such as Use of Self-Service vs. CSR? Who is doing PCMH care management programs? Who is making investments in Health IT companies? Survey results would be shared with Summit attendees and implications discussed.
 
 
Here are potential BREAK OUT TRACKS we are considering for the 2011 Summit. Please read each description, then indicate your level of interest in each track.

Health Care Reform – What is the latest and greatest as it relates to HCR? Implications for capabilities for sales, services, care mgmt, project delivery management?
PPM trends – Best practices in use of Project and Portfolio Mgmt tools – for managing portfolios, projects, resources, project health, etc.
Strategic Sourcing – an adventure. With more companies moving toward outsourcing, what are the key trends? Cloud computing? Off-shoring? BPO? What are the implications for how projects/programs are planned? Delivered? What are the key success factors and how are health plans achieving success?
IT Governance Tools Integration – In what areas are companies making investments in tools? PPM? Work Intake/Demand Mgmt? Enterprise Architecture? Requirements and Testing Mgmt? Change/Configuration Mgmt? How are these tools best configured to co-exist most effectively?
Work plan/Schedule Management – What are best practices in the use of work plans to manage delivery discipline? How to best configure the plans? How to best reflect the PMLC/SDLC in the workplan? How to best integrate with PPM tools?
PMO as a Service - Explore the different flavors of PMO’s? Where they report. Best use of Tools, best use of Processes. Best fit for small and large companies/project portfolios. How to move from a function-based organization to a service-based one; is it more than a mindset? Linking the PMO to Strategy. Which SLAs and metrics are in use to prove value?
