AUCTION 2011 (on-going)-Work in conjunction with the Development Office; planning, procurement, decorations, invitations, set-up/clean-up, and thank you notes for this fun and exciting spring social event. CONTACT: Catherine Emry
 
BOOK FAIR (October)-Set-up, sales, and clean-up for the Scholastic Book Fair. CHAIR: Pam Macauley
 
CAMPUS BEAUTIFICATION (on-going)-Assist with regular landscaping, clean-up, and maintenance around campus, as well as preparation of grounds and buildings for special events. CHAIR: Taz and Johanna Carrington
 
CLERICAL (on-going)-Assist with bulk mailings, thank you notes, and general office tasks. CONTACT: Catherine Emry
 
DUATHLON Run/Bike(June 2011)–Pass out water bottles, sign in and direct racers, help pin on bibs and cheer on your favorite participants at the first Chesapeake to Chesapeake bike/run. We also need people willing to work with community partners to coordinate this event, design the course and promote the opportunity. CHAIR: Amy Groh
 
FARMERS’ MARKET–(May-August) Pick a Saturday from 8:30am-1:30pm; 2 people per shift. Set up and staff the CA booth at Farmers’ Markets in Irvington (1st Saturday of the month) or Kilmarnock (4th Saturday of the month). A great way to meet your neighbors and spread the word about CA. FIELD DAY (May)-Work with Coach Walker to coordinate the end of year field day and school picnic. CHAIR: Kiersten Stinson
 
FILM FESTIVAL-Join us the 3rd Saturday of June-Sept (or choose one) for the Outdoor Film Festival. Help develop this fun new event for the whole community. CHAIR: Kate & Paddy Kurtz
 
GRANDPARENT’S/SPECIAL FRIENDS’ DAY (October)-Preparation, set-up and clean-up of refreshments and décor for this wonderful CA tradition. CHAIR: Tammy Revere and Becky Foster
 
HOSPITALITY (on-going)-Preparation, set-up and clean-up of refreshments and decorations for CA events throughout the school year. CHAIR: Betsy Stanley
 
KILMARNOCK CHRISTMAS PARADE (December)-Let your creativity shine! Plan and decorate an award winning float. CONTACT: Phoebe Hollingsworth
 
LUNCH-Assist with set-up and serving of food for Sub Wednesday and Pizza Friday. CHAIR: Mary Pipkin
 
NEW FAMILY AMBASSADORS (on-going)-Help new families make a smooth transition to CA and to the greater community through regular phone/email/personal contact and social opportunities. CONTACT: Hilary Scott
 
OSPREY NEST (weekly)-Sell uniforms and CA logo wear from the school store on a weekly schedule and during school events. CONTACT: Sonja Smith
 
OSPREY ELVES (December)-Help CA students in Preschool-5th Grade create and wrap unique gifts for their families. CHAIR: Angela Maske and Mrs. O’Neil
 
OYSTER ROAST (October)-Work in conjunction with the Development Office; set-up/decoration, cooking, and clean-up for this not-to-be missed fall social event. CONTACT: Catherine Emry
 
PUMPKIN CATAPULT COMPETITION-Help us take math and science to the field literally as we host the first pumpkin catapult competition for Virginia schools, organizations and businesses. Help with set up, directing teams and loading pumpkins at this post-Halloween event. Interested in running the show? Please let us know! CHAIR: TBD
 
ROOM PARENT (on-going)-Support the work of the classroom teacher, provide opportunities for parents to participate in the life of the school, and provide opportunities for students to celebrate and socialize. The ability to communicate by email is a MUST. Responsibilities include: initiation of phone tree as needed, coordination of volunteers for classroom events such as holiday parties or the MS Ice Cream Social, organization of the class auction project. CHAIR: Liz Silvernale
 
TEACHER APPRECIATION (on-going)-Prepare and deliver tokens of appreciation to faculty and staff on a monthly basis. CHAIR: Sallie Schmidt
