1. [University of Massey letterhead]

My name is Tony Lemmens and I am currently working on a research project about climate change and its impact on New Zealand and New Zealand businesses. The research is funded through a research grant from Massey University. The research is being undertaken throughout New Zealand industrial sectors, and you and your organisation have been selected to participate in this survey, by a statistical sampling method to ensure a representation of organisations across New Zealand. Your help and assistance in completing the web questionnaire is appreciated and will provide important information for the research being undertaken.

In this survey, approximately 2,000 organisational leaders will be asked to complete a survey that asks questions about their general environmental perspectives and specific questions on climate change. It will take approximately five minutes to complete the questionnaire.

Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. There are no foreseeable risks associated with this project. However, if you feel uncomfortable answering any questions, you can withdraw from the survey at any point.

Your survey responses will be strictly confidential and data from this research will be reported only in the aggregate. Your information will be coded and will remain confidential.

The survey starts with the review of some general environmental aspects and then more specific climate change questions from an organisational and personal perspectives. The last section covers specific demographic details.

At the end of this project I hope that the information gathered will inform New Zealand on the climate change. If you would like a copy of the research findings please check on the final question in the survey.

If you have questions at any time about the survey or the procedures, you may contact me at [Phone Number], or by email at the email address specified below.

Thank you very much for your time and support. Please start with the survey now by clicking on the Continue button below.
