Title of Research Study: Internet Strategies Used by Nonprofit Organizations Investigator: Stephanie Sikora Institution: Point Park University
PURPOSE The purpose of this research is to determine if nonprofit organizations are meeting the wants and needs of their online audiences, namely donors and potential donors. This is you! Nonprofit organizations, like the American Heart Association, must understand what donors and potential donors want, need and hold valuable in order to successfully plan in implement successful fundraising campaigns that enable them to meet their mission.
BENEFITS By participating in this survey, you will play a significant role in helping the AHA meet its mission. By providing helpful information about your donations habits and Internet use, the AHA will be able to better tailor to your lives and personalities, which will result in more efficient and effective experiences on both ends!
PROCEDURE The information you provide in this survey will be used to determine if the AHA’s online endeavors meet your needs, and will identify areas for improvement.
RISKS We anticipate that this study poses no potential risks. However, in the event that you are uncomfortable answering any question, you may leave it blank or withdraw from the survey.
CONFIDENTIALITY All information that is obtained through this survey will remain confidential. It will be known only to the researcher and will not be disclosed. Any personal information will be removed from data prior to analysis. Your completed questionnaires will be kept in locked file cabinets and destroyed after three years.
QUIT OR COME BACK LATER Participating in this survey is voluntary. Refusal to participate will not result in penalty or loss of benefits to which the participant is otherwise entitled.
