AUGMENTED REALITY VIRTUAL FITTING ROOM
VIPodiumTM
Fitting Reality is a Moscow-based company developing augmented reality fitting room VIPodiumTM built on a motion sensing input device. In May 2011, the first prototype tailored to TOPSHOP collection was successfully demonstrated in the «European» Shopping and Entertainment Center in Moscow ( HYPERLINK "http://fittingreality.com/" http://fittingreality.com/). The launch of the early version of virtual fitting room was featured in a number of media including Wired, The Daily Mail and others. The product was welcomed by retail specialists, brand owners, fashion consultants from all over the world. Fitting Reality started receiving lots of inquiries on how and when commercial version could be purchased.
A team of Fitting Reality worked hard on the development of leading-edge software solutions for simulation of fabric physics to realistically visualize the motion and properties of cloth dynamics. A breakthrough three-dimensional interface is designed for further usability testing and local customization.
Aimed at rethinking clothing shopping experience the company plans to test the product in Europe, Northern America, and Asia to develop a compelling and engaging virtual interactive User Experience for major brands in mainstream markets. The product is intended for usage both in the comfort of home and in-store: in big-box retailers, department stores and independent boutiques. By this, we develop several touch-points for the product, i.e. this can be used both outside (shop windows, retail fronts) and inside the shop (the so called “mirrors”).
Thus, the scope of research includes interviews with leading fashion retail professionals, store design managers, brand executives, image consultants and other stakeholders of the product.
