IRCPP STUDENT DATA INPUT Draft (5)

INDIGENOUS RANGER CADETSHIP PILOT PROGRAM
INDIVIDUAL STUDENT DATA ENTRY FORM

This data form is an aspect of the Evaluation of the Indigenous Ranger Cadetship Pilot Program (IRCPP) for the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). The information gathered through the form will assist in gaining understandings about progress in the Pilot Program. By understanding the achievements of the Pilot schools, consideration can then be given to possible future effort in the area.

Importantly, completion of the online form will also fully meet DEEWR monitoring and reporting requirements for the IRCPP.

The form has been designed for completion by the coordinating teacher who has responsibility for the School’s IRC Pilot. However, it is envisaged that the coordinating teacher may wish to consult with other staff members when responding to at least some of the items.

The form is designed so that it is completed for each student who has participated or is participating in the IRC Pilot at the school. The form will not identify individual students. However, through a code based on the student’s date-of-birth, it is intended to track their progress in the Pilot over the course of the Evaluation. The Evaluators are not to be provided with any link between a student’s date-of-birth and their name. Information from the form will only be reported at the school and Program level. No information will be reported at the student level.

The data to be collected include: the student’s date-of-birth; their school Year; attendance records (explained and unexplained absences) for last year and for the two terms prior to commencing the program, and while participating in the program; NAPLAN bands or equivalent; and, progress towards attainment of Certificate 1 and/or 2.

Once you have completed the form for one student, click 'Continue' to save the data and access another form for the next student. Once you click ‘Continue’ on the last page, you will automatically be taken to the start of another form.

If you need to leave the form part way through the information about any one student, go to the bottom the page you are on and click on "Save page and Continue later". This will save the data you have entered and allow you to return to it at a later time. So that you can return to that student, a link will be emailed to you allowing the form for that student to be accessed from the point where you left off. However, it will be necessary for you to record the name and birth code alongside that link in your notes to make sure the form is being completed for the same student.

In 2014, we will ask that the information provided this year be updated in a second survey. The amount of information required will be less than for the first survey.

Thank you for your cooperation and assistance in completing a survey form for each IRC student in your school.
