SCUSD Principal Development Program: LEARN Academy


What is the SCUSD Principal Development Program?
The SCUSD Principal Development Program is designed to train SCUSD principals and leaders beginning
with their first experiences in leadership through their commitment as district principals.

What are the benefits of becoming a LEARN Leader?
Applicants who are accepted into the LEARN Academy, and who successfully complete the yearlong LEARN program, will automatically enter the Principal and Assistant Principal pool at SCUSD (assuming that their administrative credentials are in place).

What experiences do LEARN leaders have?
LEARN Leaders represent a vast range of professional experiences in such school-site roles as Assistant Principal, Instructional Coach, and Teacher. LEARN Leaders can also have experience in district-level and external roles such as project managers, and school support positions. While classroom experience is not a pre-requisite for the LEARN program, we know that candidates with strong experiences in instruction are typically the most successful.
