Dear Participant,

You are being invited to participate in a research study conducted by Jana Cason and DeDe Wohlfarth in conjunction with Gregg Wentzel and the Lilly Conference staff. This research seeks to determine how participation in the Lilly Conference on College Teaching has impacted faculty who participated in the conference (did they implement new teaching strategies, gain new insights/ideas that transformed their teaching, etc.). Your participation will involve completing a brief survey (linked to this e-mail) which will take approximately 10 minutes of your time to complete. Direct benefits of participation include reflecting on your participation at Lilly and consideration of strategies (if any) implemented since attending the 2010 Lilly Conference.

To increase confidentiality, all data will be presented in grouped form, and the results from any one individual will never be presented. Participants’ names will not be associated with any specific information obtained from the survey. The surveys will be reviewed and analyzed only by the investigators and will be kept in a locked file cabinet in an investigator’s office. Only aggregate data will be reported in any conference and/or manuscript format.

Risk to participation is judged to be minimal. It is possible that an emotional response may be elicited if an individual were sensitive to a particular survey question. However, the level of discomfort is equivalent to reading a newspaper article related to the topic. Although it is unlikely, there might also be some risks of which we are not aware. Please contact the investigators at any time if you have any questions regarding this research. Our names, address, phone number, and e-mail address are given below.

Your participation is strictly voluntary and you may withdraw or terminate your participation at any time for any reason, including no reason without penalty.

The checked box below indicates that you have read the informed consent and agree to participate in this research study. Please click on the link below to access the survey.
