1. Welcome!

Project Title: Public Engagement in Science Advocacy and Climate Change Marches

We invite you to take part in a research study related to your participation in today’s march. We are studying why individuals engage in political action and how this engagement relates to their professional identity. Your participation would remain entirely anonymous and your name will never be associated with it.  Your participation is expected to take approximately ten minutes and consists of a short survey.

You are free to decide whether you wish to participate in this study. You can end your participation at any time and it will not be held against you. We cannot promise any benefits to you or others from your taking part in this research. This research has been reviewed and approved by the Social Behavioral Institutional Review Board at Arizona State University. You may talk to them at (480) 965-6788 or by email at [email protected] with any questions or concerns.  You may also contact the PI of this project, Sonja Klinsky at (480)727-0834 or by email at [email protected].

You must be 18 years old or older to participate in this research.

To do so, we will use a scale from one to five, where one means you strongly disagree with the statement, two means you disagree, three means you neither agree nor disagree, four means you agree, and five means you strongly agree. Does this scale from one to five make sense?
