We are in the process of updating the site's submission policy and are looking for feedback from the community about what some of those policies are going to be.

Please answer the following questions to help us get a better understanding of what the community wants the policies to be.

Should we allow submission of derivative works?

This would include such things as "doll" base templates (but not full doll makers), colored lineart, recolored pictures, etc. However it is expected that most template based works would not make it past the quality filters.

Note, this question does NOT include thing like fanart/fanfiction that are based on existing characters/universe but the actual picture/story is entirely created by the submitter.

Yes - With permission from the original artist/author (images licensed allowing derivative works is considered implicit permission for the purposes of this)

No - Derivative works of any form should not be allowed.

How should we deal with collaborative works? That is, works created by more than one person working together. The colored lineart item from Q1 also fits into this question under some circumstances.

They should be uploaded to both artist/author's galleries.

They should be uploaded to one artist/author's gallery, but link/credit the other artist/author in the description.

They should be allowed with either of the previous 2 options.

They should be allowed with no particular requirements.

They should not be allowed at all.

Should we allow the submission of commissioned pictures/stories by the recipient (the one who paid for the commission).

Yes, but only if the recipient gets copyright to the picture/story as part of the commission agreement.

Yes, with permission and credit, even if the artist maintains copyright to the picture/story.

No, pictures/stories received as a commission should not be allowed.

Only allow submissions of commissioned work where the artist retains copyright?

Yes - if the buyer gets copyright the seller should not be allowed to submit it.

No - if the buyer gets copyright the seller should still be allowed to submit it, with permission from the buyer.

Should a photograph be allowed as a background in an image submission? Note, in order to prevent legal hassles, photos containing people are not allowed regardless.

Yes, but only if the artist created the photo.

Yes, as long as the artist has permission/license to use it.

No, photography should never be allowed as a component of a submission.

Should we allow submissions that contain, as a minor component, copyrighted images such as icons/user interfaces element? Example WOW fanart which contains the game's HUD/toolbar: http://pictures.hentai-foundry.com/d/ddv03/121668.jpg

Should we allow submissions of 3d works based off stock models from software such as Poser?

Should we allow submissions that contain clipart or other such stock images licensed for such use.
