Ulcerative Colitis is a long term, incurable, chronic inflammatory bowel disease that causes the large intestine to become swollen and red. This disease affects approximately 33,000 Australians and diagnosis often occurs between the ages of 15-30. The most common symptoms of Ulcerative Colitis are, bloody diarrhoea, abdominal pain, fever, fatigue, weight loss however there are many other symptoms, all of which vary from person to person.
