The Officer of the Chief Information Officer works with agencies to assist them in developing appropriate Software Asset Management (SAM) processes, to ensure agencies are able to meet their legal obligations in regards software licensing.

In order to mainatain this relationship, it is essential that the Office have up-to-date information about those officers who are responsible for working on SAM within the agencies. Additionally, the Office needs to know who are the Senior Managers/Executives who are responsible to the Chief Executive for overseeing the SAM effort.
