Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to participate in this survey. I am gathering information on the use of models in museums and heritage centres, how they enrich the learning experience and enjoyment of the visit. I will also be interviewing museum curators and staff to see what their view on the use of models is.

As a part of this project I plan to build a scale model of an British Iron Age roundhouse using authentic materials. It will include items commonly found in these dwellings, all hand made and to scale. Inspiration for the design of the building will be taken from the reconstructed roundhouses at St Fagans, now sadly demolished due to disrepair. I will also use information from archaeological reports and texts.

All the information I gather will be compiled into a paper that will include details and pictures on the construction of the model roundhouse. It will also eventually lead to the construction of a full size roundhouse, built by my partner and me sometime in the (hopefully near) future.
