Hello:
This questionnaire tries to trap your ideas about the portrayal of girls and boys, women and men in the titles, themes, characterization and illustrations in the story books you read to the children in the classroom. The study hypothesizes that books provide role models for children in defining feminine and masculine behavior; also representation or stereotypical portrayal of one gender especially of girls can limit children’s potential growth and development. The study will examine whether the scenario is changing with increasing consciousness about gender equality issues in India.
