Characteristics of Early Childhood Music Development Programs currently found in Public Schools

Project Abstract

A survey was conducted to determine the use of music play and music study in public school kindergarten, first grade, and second grade classrooms. The subjects for this study are educators currently teaching in public school classrooms. Each school used for this study represents diverse demographic backgrounds. The participants of this survey are from a south eastern state in the United States.
The survey consisted of fifteen questions that were answered by marking the appropriate answers. Questions for this survey could be answered with a yes or no or a specific answer listed. The survey was mailed to educators at their school email addressed as found online via the public school webpage. Participants completed the survey and forwarded the finished survey back to the researcher´┐Żs email address.
