Correlates of Career Choice Satisfaction Among Asian American College Students
The purpose of this project is to empirically examine variables that are hypothetically related to level of career choice satisfaction among Asian American college students in an effort to better inform theory and practice in vocational psychology. Informed by extant research, variables selected for examination include: (1) congruence between subjects vocational interest patterns and interest type of their 1st choice occupation, (2) correspondence between subjects extrinsic work value patterns and work value reinforcers of their 1st choice occupation, (3) perceived parental approval of subjects 1st choice occupation, and (4) level of adherence to Asian American values.
