A discrete choice conjoint analysis of international tourist preferences for ecotourism in Abruzzo, Italy
This project proposes to develop a contingent choice survey instrument to estimate the willingness to pay by North American and Northern European tourists for a differentiated bundle of eco-cultural tourism services in Abruzzo, Italy. In person interviews conducted in Seattle, London, and Dusseldorf are combined with web survey responses. Tests of market segmentation by nationality, age, and experience of traveller are conducted in a multinomial logit estimation procedure. Comparison of motivational aspects of the interview process are made across nationalities and interview modalities.
