shortage of workers is more serious in certain regions of the country. Four trends
are converging to create this shortage and unprecedented challenges for workforce
and economic development in the U.S., aging population, stagnant population labor
force growth, escalating skill requirements, and unprepared new and existing
workers. The U.S. needs to implement a set of strategies to increase the number of
qualified workers for the 21st Century (DAmico, 1999). Former military members
can provide a high quality individual to feel the shortage of qualified workers.
