2. PROJECT SCOPE
2.1 PROJECT ACTIVITIES
The scope of the project will comprise of following activities:
� Study and research target vertical segments to understand their needs with regards to IT hardware partners
� Primary research on target vertical segments to comprehend their existing process of selecting an IT hardware partner
� Recognition of Dell�s perceived strengths and weaknesses and Dell�s corporate image as an IT hardware provider in the vertical segments
� Recommend changes that Dell needs to make in order to achieve its objective of better customer service in the targeted vertical segment
� Develop a strategic level business plan to elaborate on the implementation of the recommended changes
� Notify about the implications of suggested changes on Dell�s current business

2.2 TARGET AUDIENCE
As previously mentioned, the target audience for this project has been restricted to vertical segments in two industries, namely financial services and telecom industry.
From the view point of Dell�s product orientation, the IT hardware partner can comprise of either of the following:
� Turnkey solutions: Client, Server and Data Storage and Communication hardware
� Client/Server Solution
� Data storage Hardware and Servers

2.3 GEOGRAPHIC SCOPE
The geographic scope for this project is limited to vertical segments having head quarters in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
