QuestionPro Workforce Has All The Feels – Release of the New Sentiment Analysis

When it comes to knowing what employees have in their hearts and minds, it can be complex to unpack. Year after year, workplaces are experiencing so much change, and these changes can impact workers in many different ways.

In the newest release of QuestionPro Workforce Sentiment Analysis, we made a number of updates and upgrades to make understanding open-ended responses, and even more importantly taking action on them, even easier.

  1. We enhanced the way we classify comments into different themes, or categories. We start out by building extensive keywords associated with each theme, and use the help of GenAI to expand these keywords into concepts. This step allows us to categorize upwards of 85% of comments per question because it allows us to understand the employee responses more holistically.
  1. Each of the themes have two levels of drilldowns. One is seeing each comment that was tagged within a specific theme, and second is seeing a list of concepts that appeared under a specific theme, and the frequency it appeared in. Each drilldown provides a more in-depth understanding of open-ended comments and allows the reader to see the analysis from the breadest concept all the way to the raw source of the comments that make up the analysis.

  1. Overall, there are two different options for how comments can be analyzed – based on themes only, or based on themes and sentiment. We found that often questions asked in employee surveys are inherently positive or negative in nature, hence pure text analysis is a simpler and straightforward way to analyze the data (e.g., What do you like most about working at Company X?). For questions where adding sentiment can be of greater use, it can be simply turned on though switching a toggle.
