Today we are super excited to announce the acquisition of Contlo – an AI-native marketing platform for e-commerce – and to integrate it into our products and services.
Why did we do this?
For over a decade, journey orchestration has been a pipe-dream for most enterprises. In concept, everyone agrees – each customer’s journey should be unique, orchestrated and blissful. In practice, the systems that listen to customers (surveys, focus groups, qualitative research) and the systems that act on that understanding (email, SMS, WhatsApp, personalized offers) have lived in different worlds. We were great at listening. We were failing at activation.
Contlo closes that gap. It is the first in a series of “systems of activation” we are bringing into QuestionPro, and it directly addresses the space between listening and action.
The numbers behind it: more than 5.8 billion messages sent, over 190 million customer profiles and 3.9 million orders generated for hundreds of paying brands, with integrations across 200-plus platforms. Contlo’s co-founders, Ishaan Bhola and Mukunda NS, join us as AI advisors, and we will also bring the AI capabilities of SuperAGI’s agentic platform into our product suite.
Why e-commerce first?
Because orchestration is industry-specific. How a CPG brand activates customers is completely different from how an e-commerce company does it – the tooling, the channels, even what “activation” really means. Rather than boil the ocean, we picked one vertical where we can make the end-to-end loop actually work: listen, decide, act, learn.
Why now?
LLMs and agents changed the math. Closing the loop needs systems that listen and react at the same time, and for the first time the technology can actually do that. AI agents can use real customer understanding to decide the next right action for a customer, execute it across channels and learn from the result.
What does this mean for you?
Well – if you are not in e-commerce, honestly, not much changes today. But if you are an e-commerce merchant (especially on Shopify), this lets you build agents and workflows that automate both sides of the equation – listening and activation – with a learning feedback loop that gets smarter with every campaign.
That is what we mean by agentic commerce: connecting what customers say with how brands respond. Contlo is the first step. More to come.
