Self-Reported Success (SRS) is a usability metric in QuestionPro UX that captures whether a participant believes they successfully completed a task. Unlike objective task completion (which is verified by a researcher), SRS measures the participant's own perception of their performance.
After a participant finishes a specific task in a usability test, they are immediately asked a follow-up question: "Did you successfully complete this task?" with a simple "Yes" or "No" response option.
This happens before any post-test surveys or psychometric questionnaires (like SUS or PSSUQ) to ensure the participant's memory of the task effort is fresh.
The true value of the SRS metric lies in the Success Gap. By comparing the participant’s self-report against the moderator’s objective verification, you can identify three critical user states:
You can view the SRS breakdown in the Analytics dashboard under the Task Completion tab.
SRS is enabled by default for all Usability Tests involving tasks. During Step 3: Tasks of your test setup, ensure that the "Task Completion" toggle is active for each task where you want to collect both objective and perceived success data.
