questionpro-mcp-certification

For twenty years, you clicked through QuestionPro. Now you can get certified in QuestionPro MCP certification just by asking it.

Enroll for free: Start the QuestionPro MCP and AI Automation certification and learn how to run QuestionPro Surveys, BI, CX, EX, Research, and Automation from inside the AI assistant you already use.

In short

  • QuestionPro has gone headless: AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code can now connect directly to the platform.
  • The QuestionPro MCP and AI Automation certification teaches you to make that connection and use it across Surveys, BI, CX, EX, Research, and Automation.
  • It uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard, so the connection works the same no matter which assistant you prefer.
  • Connecting takes a secure OAuth sign-in. No API keys, no code, no IT ticket.
  • It’s a fit for students, research directors, analytics and marketing teams, brand trackers, CX and EX managers, professors, and single users on their own QuestionPro account alike.
  • The course is free, self-paced, and ends with a shareable certificate and badge.

What is the QuestionPro MCP and AI Automation certification?

For twenty years, people used QuestionPro by opening a browser and clicking through screens. That changed when QuestionPro went headless: AI assistants can now operate the platform directly, against the same data, under the same permissions, in the same workspace your team already uses. The QuestionPro MCP and AI Automation certification is where you learn to actually use that shift, instead of hearing about it secondhand.

It’s a free, self-paced course on QuestionPro’s certification platform that teaches you how to connect AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code directly to your QuestionPro account using the Model Context Protocol, or MCP. Once you finish it, you’ll know how to ask your assistant to build a survey, generate a BI dashboard, pull research insights, send a campaign, or set up a webhook, in plain language, without opening a dashboard first.

It sits in its own course category, separate from the Research, CX, and BI certification tracks, because it isn’t about a single product. It’s about a new way of operating all of them.

Get certified: Enroll in the QuestionPro MCP and AI Automation certification now, or see what QuestionPro MCP does inside your account first.

What is MCP, and why does it matter for research and CX teams?

Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets an AI assistant connect to a piece of software directly, the same way a USB port lets any cable talk to any laptop. Before MCP existed, every AI integration needed its own custom plumbing. Connecting an assistant to a survey platform meant one kind of code, connecting it to a CRM meant another, and switching AI models meant rebuilding the whole thing. MCP replaces that with a single connection that works the same way no matter which assistant you prefer.

Going headless changes who operates QuestionPro, not what the product is. Your assistant drives the same platform, against the same data, under the same permissions, in the same workspace your team already uses. QuestionPro has spent years building AI into the research and CX workflow itself, from automated insights to AI-built surveys, and MCP is the next piece of that story.

If you want the deeper technical picture, including why MCP spread faster than almost any developer standard in recent memory, the MCP survey tool breakdown covers it in detail. The full picture of what going headless means for the platform lives on the headless overview. The certification is where you turn that overview into a working skill.

What you will learn in the course

The course is organized around the six areas QuestionPro has exposed through MCP: Surveys, BI, CX, EX, Research, and Automation. By the end, you should be comfortable doing each of these from inside an AI assistant rather than the QuestionPro dashboard.

  • Connecting an assistant securely. How OAuth sign-in works for MCP, what scoped access means, and how to approve or revoke a connection from Settings.
  • Building and editing surveys. Turning a plain-language brief into a structured survey with logic, directly inside the chat window.
  • Generating BI dashboards. Asking for a dashboard or widget by description instead of building it manually.
  • Pulling research and CX insights. Reaching into InsightsHub repositories or CX workspaces to surface what your organization already knows.
  • Sending campaigns and managing distribution. Queuing an email send or building a recipient list through a conversation.
  • Setting up automation. Configuring webhooks and triggers so survey results flow into the systems your team already runs on.

Picture a benefits team at a US healthcare system. Every quarter they run an employee listening survey, pull the results into a deck, and present it to leadership. That cycle used to take a researcher most of a week. After the certification, the same team member can ask their assistant to build the pulse survey, send it to the right department folders, and summarize the engagement trend the moment responses come in, all from the same conversation.

How QuestionPro MCP works, from connection to conversation

Connecting takes a few minutes and no code. You add QuestionPro as a connector in your assistant’s settings, sign in with your existing QuestionPro account through a secure OAuth flow, and approve which parts of the platform the assistant can reach. There are no API keys to generate, share, or rotate. The MCP help file walks through the exact steps for Claude.ai, Claude Desktop, and ChatGPT, and the certification walks through the same setup with guided practice.

Once connected, you describe what you need in plain English, and the assistant carries out the workflow. Nothing is exported or copied out. Your assistant is working against your live account, under your existing role and permissions, in real time.

The servers you will connect to

QuestionPro MCP isn’t one connector. Every part of the platform is exposed as its own server, so you can connect to all of them at once or point your assistant at a single one for a focused integration. The course walks through the servers most teams use first:

  • Survey Builder: create and configure surveys, questions, and logic from a brief.
  • Survey Send: build recipient lists and queue campaigns for your approval.
  • Survey Result: pull response data and results with no export step.
  • BI: build and query dashboards, widgets, and data sources.
  • CX: work across CX workspaces, segments, and workflows.
  • EX: handle Employee Experience folders, members, and surveys.
  • InsightsHub: search repositories and past findings before you commission new research.
  • Integrations: configure webhooks, triggers, and data mappings.

New servers get added as more of the platform goes headless, and the course points you to where the current list lives so you’re never learning against an outdated one.

MCP in action: one workflow, start to finish

Consider a CX team at a UK insurer. Every Monday, a claims manager needs a post-claim satisfaction survey with follow-up questions that only show for unhappy customers. Before MCP, that meant opening QuestionPro, building the branching logic by hand, and testing it before it went live.

With MCP connected, the manager describes the survey to her assistant instead. The assistant builds the branching logic, sets it live, and hands back a shareable link, all inside the chat she was already using. On Thursday, the same team is in a review meeting and someone asks how detractor sentiment shifted after a policy change. The assistant pulls the CX data, segments it, and surfaces the answer while the meeting is still running. Nobody exports a spreadsheet, and nobody waits for a research ticket to clear.

That’s the shift the certification is built to teach: not a new feature to learn, but a new place to do the work you already do.

Research Agent or headless MCP: which one does the certification teach?

QuestionPro has two ways to put AI to work, and it’s worth knowing which one this course covers. Research Agent is an AI agent that lives inside QuestionPro itself. It plans, builds, and configures a survey from plain-language instructions, including skip logic, branching, and importing a Word or PDF brief, all inside the survey builder you already have open.

MCP works the other direction. Instead of you coming to QuestionPro, the platform comes to you, inside the AI assistant you already have open. That’s the connection this certification teaches: how to reach QuestionPro Surveys, BI, CX, EX, Research, and Automation from Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or VS Code without logging into the dashboard at all.

They aren’t competitors, and plenty of teams use both. Research Agent handles the build when you’re already inside a survey. MCP handles everything else, including the dashboards, the CX workflows, and the research repository, when you’d rather stay inside your assistant. The certification focuses on the second one, because that’s the skill that spans the whole platform instead of one product.

The advantages of getting QuestionPro MCP certified

The advantages of the certification go beyond knowing which button to click.

  • A recognized credential. A certificate and badge you can show on LinkedIn, a resume, or to a manager who wants proof the skill exists, not just a claim.
  • Full-platform fluency, not one feature. Surveys, BI, CX, EX, Research, and Automation are taught together, so you’re not relearning the connection for every product you touch.
  • No developer or IT ticket required. Everything taught uses OAuth sign-in and plain-language requests. There’s nothing to request from engineering to start using it.
  • Hands-on with the tools you already use. The course teaches Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code, so you’re not learning a new interface on top of a new skill.
  • Your existing permissions stay intact. You learn to work within whatever role your account already has, so certification doesn’t open a new risk surface for your admin to manage.
  • A skill that keeps working. MCP is an open standard, not a QuestionPro-only trick, so what you learn stays useful as new AI assistants adopt the protocol.

Enroll in the certification to start earning it.

How it cuts busywork, reduces dependency, and frees up your time

Most of the friction in research work isn’t the thinking. It’s everything around it: logging in, exporting, reformatting, waiting on someone else’s calendar. The certification is built around removing that friction specifically.

  • Less exporting, less waiting.
Before MCP, getting a filtered cross-tab into a conversation meant logging into QuestionPro, running the report, exporting it, and pasting it in. After certification, that same request is a sentence to your assistant, answered from inside the chat you’re already in.
  • Less dependency on a specialist.
A marketing manager who needs a dashboard refreshed, or a department head who needs a pulse survey built, has historically had to wait on a researcher, an analyst, or an admin with platform access. Once you’re certified, routine requests like these stop being a queue and start being something you do yourself, in the tool you already have open.
  • More time for the part that actually needs a person.
Nobody gets hired to export CSVs or rebuild the same dashboard every Monday. The time the certification gives back is time spent on the parts of research and CX work that still need judgment: framing the right question, reading the result for what it actually means, and deciding what to do next.

Who this certification helps, and how

This isn’t built for one kind of user. It’s built for anyone whose job touches a survey, a dashboard, or a feedback program, whatever that job title says.

  • Students writing a thesis or dissertation. Build your methodology survey, pull responses straight into your analysis, and skip re-typing variables into a separate stats tool by hand.
  • Research and insights directors. Get fluent across the Research Suite, InsightsHub, and BI through one credential, so you can brief or audit a team on how the AI layer actually works instead of relying on a secondhand explanation.
  • Analytics and marketing teams. Ask for the dashboard or the trend you need, inside the same assistant you already use for campaign planning, without filing a request and waiting for someone else’s queue.
  • Brand tracking teams. The certification covers BI and trend workflows, so tracking the same metric wave over wave becomes a prompt you repeat, not a report you rebuild.
  • EX managers. The course covers the EX server directly, folders, members, and surveys, so engagement and pulse programs can be built and summarized without opening the platform.
  • CX managers. Covers CX workspaces and segments, so an experience program can be queried in the middle of a stakeholder meeting instead of after it.
  • Professors and instructors. A free, structured way to teach the modern AI-plus-research workflow on a real platform instead of a hypothetical one, worth assigning as coursework in a research methods class.
  • Single users running their own research. Learning MCP doesn’t require an enterprise rollout. If you’re the only person on your QuestionPro account, the same connection and the same plain-language workflow apply to your surveys as they do to a large team’s.

Whichever of these is you, the starting point is the same. Enroll in the QuestionPro MCP and AI Automation certification and work through it at your own pace.

How to get certified

You don’t need to be technical, and you don’t need to finish the whole course before you try the connection yourself. Open your AI assistant’s settings, add QuestionPro as a connector, and ask it what it can do. Then go get the credentials that prove you know how to use it well.

Frequently asked questions

What is the QuestionPro MCP and AI Automation certification?

It’s a free, self-paced course on QuestionPro’s certification platform that teaches you to securely connect AI assistants, including Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code, to QuestionPro Surveys, BI, CX, EX, Research, and Automation using the Model Context Protocol. You finish knowing how to build surveys, generate dashboards, pull insights, send campaigns, and set up webhooks by asking in plain language.

Is the certification free?

It follows the same free, self-paced format as QuestionPro’s other on-demand certification courses. You work through the lessons on your own schedule and take the exam when you’re ready.

Do I need to know how to code to take this course?

No. MCP connections use secure sign-in and plain-language requests, not API keys or custom development. If you can describe what you want in a sentence, you can follow the course.

Which AI assistants does the course cover?

The course walks through connecting Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code. Because MCP is an open standard rather than a private integration, any assistant that adopts the protocol can connect without QuestionPro building a separate connector for it.

What is the difference between this certification and Research Agent?

Research Agent is an AI feature that lives inside QuestionPro and builds, configures, and edits surveys for you from plain-language instructions, on the same screen. This certification covers headless MCP, which lets your AI assistant operate the whole platform, Surveys, BI, CX, EX, Research, and Automation, from outside QuestionPro entirely.

Is my account data safe when I connect an AI assistant through MCP?

Yes, within the permissions you already have. Connections use OAuth, so no API keys change hands, every session is bound to a real user, and you can disconnect any assistant from your settings at any time. A view-only user stays view-only through the connection, because MCP inherits your existing role rather than granting new access.

Is this certification useful if I’m a student or a single user, not part of an enterprise team?

Yes. The course teaches the same connection and the same plain-language workflow regardless of team size. A student working on a thesis or a single user running their own research on a QuestionPro account follows the exact same lessons as a research director at a large company.

What do I get when I finish the certification?

A certificate and a badge you can share on LinkedIn or by email, the same recognition format QuestionPro uses across its other certification tracks.
