How Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) is Calculated?

The standard eNPS question is:

You can use this simple formula to calculate your eNPS:

  • eNPS = % Promoters – % Detractors

You’ll ignore the passives in the calculation. For example, if 70% of your employees are promoters and 10% are detractors, the eNPS = 70 – 10 = 60

  • List all responses in a column.
  • Count how many scores fall into each category:
    • Promoters (9–10)
    • Passives (7–8)
    • Detractors (0–6)
  • Divide the number of promoters by the total responses and multiply by 100.
  • Repeat for detractors.
  • Subtract the detractor percentage from the promoter percentage.
