Import weighting

Import weighting in QuestionPro BI lets you create a weighting scheme by downloading a structured template, filling it with the desired weight values, and uploading the completed file back into the platform. This is useful when your analysis requires adjusted response values across a selected data source.

After the weighting scheme is created, you can review the imported data, re-upload an updated template when needed, and apply the scheme where it is most relevant. Weighting can be applied at the widget level for a focused view or at the dashboard level for broader dashboard analysis.

• Open the Weightings module from the left navigation panel to access the workspace for creating and managing BI weighting schemes.


• Click New weight scheme to begin setting up a new weighting scheme for the selected BI workspace.


• Select Import weighting to create the scheme from a template file that can be downloaded, completed, and uploaded.


• Choose the data source that contains the responses or records where the imported weighting values should be applied.


• Enter a clear scheme name so the weighting can be identified easily when it is applied to widgets or dashboards later.


• Choose the template format, CSV or Excel, based on the file type you want to edit before uploading the completed weights.


• Click the download icon to generate the blank weighting template for the selected data source and file format.


• When the generated file URL appears, click it to download the template file locally.


• Open the downloaded template, enter the required weight values for the relevant records, and save the completed file in the same format.


• Use Choose File to Upload to select the completed weighting template from your computer.


• Click Create to upload the completed template and start creating the imported weighting scheme.


• Monitor the bottom-right progress panel until the imported weighting file finishes processing.

• After processing finishes, open the completed weighting scheme by clicking its name in the Weightings list.


• Review the imported weighting data to confirm that the uploaded weight values appear correctly in the scheme.


• Click Re-upload when the existing imported file needs to be replaced with updated weighting values.


• Choose CSV or Excel for the re-upload workflow, matching the format you want to update.


• Download the latest template file for the selected format before editing the updated weighting values.


• Update the template with the revised weighting values, save the file, and use Choose File to Upload to select it for re-upload.


• Click Upload to submit the revised template and replace the existing imported weighting data in the scheme.

• Navigate to Dashboards and open the dashboard that contains the widget where the imported weighting scheme should be applied.


• Open the menu for the target widget and select Settings to configure weighting for that widget only.


• Go to the Analytics tab in the widget settings panel to find the widget-level weighting controls.


• Set the scheme type to Widget so the imported weighting scheme affects only the selected widget.


• Open the scheme selection dropdown and select the imported weighting scheme you want to apply to the widget analysis.

• Open the dashboard where the imported weighting scheme should be applied across the full dashboard analysis.


• Click the settings icon in the top-right area of the dashboard to open dashboard-level settings.


• In the dashboard settings panel, navigate to the Weightings tab to configure weighting for the full dashboard.


• Use the dropdown to select the imported weighting scheme that should be applied across the dashboard analysis.


• Click Save to apply the selected weighting scheme and update the dashboard-level analysis results.
