Import weighting

Import weighting in QuestionPro BI lets you create a weighting scheme by downloading a structured template, filling it with the desired weight values, and uploading the completed file back into the platform. This is useful when your analysis requires adjusted response values across a selected data source.

After the weighting scheme is created, you can review the imported data, re-upload an updated template when needed, and apply the scheme where it is most relevant. Weighting can be applied at the widget level for a focused view or at the dashboard level for broader dashboard analysis.

• Open the Weightings module from the left navigation panel to access the area where BI weighting schemes are created and managed.


• Click New weight scheme to start a new weighting setup for the selected BI workspace.


• Select Import weighting so the scheme can be created from a downloaded template that you fill and upload.


• Choose the data source that contains the responses or records you want the weighting scheme to adjust.


• Enter a clear, recognizable name for the weighting scheme so it is easy to identify when applying it later.


• Choose whether to download the weighting scheme template in CSV or Excel format, depending on the file type you prefer to edit.


• Click the download icon to generate the blank template file for the selected data source and file format.


• When the generated file URL appears, click it to download the template to your computer.


• Open the downloaded template, enter the required weight values for the relevant records, and save the completed file.


• Use Choose File to Upload to select the completed template file from your computer.


• Click Create to upload the completed file and begin creating the weighting scheme.


• Monitor the creation status in the progress panel in the bottom-right area of the screen until processing is complete.


• After processing finishes, open the completed weighting scheme by clicking its name in the list.


• Review the imported weighting data to confirm the uploaded values were added to the scheme correctly.


• Click Re-upload when you need to replace the current imported file or update the weighting values.


• Choose CSV or Excel again for the re-upload workflow, based on the format you want to update.


• Download the latest template file for the selected format before making your updates.


• Update the template with the revised weighting values, save it, and use Choose File to Upload to select the revised file.


• Click Upload to submit the revised template and replace the existing imported weighting data.


• Use the bottom-right progress panel to confirm the revised weighting scheme finishes processing successfully.

• Navigate to Dashboards and open the dashboard where the imported weighting scheme should be applied.


• Decide whether the weighting scheme should apply only to a specific widget or to the entire dashboard.


• To apply weighting at the widget level, open the menu for the target widget and select its settings.


• Go to the Analytics tab in the widget settings panel to find the weighting controls.


• Set the scheme type to Widget so the imported weighting scheme affects only this widget.


• Open the scheme selection dropdown to view the available weighting schemes for the widget.


• Select the imported weighting scheme you created to apply it to the widget-level analysis.


• To apply weighting at the dashboard level instead, click the settings icon in the top-right area of the dashboard.


• In the dashboard settings panel, navigate to the Weightings tab to configure dashboard-level weighting.


• Use the dropdown to select the imported weighting scheme that should be applied across the dashboard.


• Click Save to apply the selected weighting scheme and update the dashboard-level analysis.
