The Word Cloud is a visual tool that displays the most frequently used words or phrases in open-ended text responses.

Larger words represent higher frequency, offering users an immediate sense of prominent themes or topics in qualitative feedback.

This feature helps users quickly identify dominant terms, support storytelling with visuals, and dig deeper into sentiment and keyword trends.

1. Auto-generated Frequency-Based Clouds – Automatically identifies and visualizes frequently used terms across all or filtered responses.
2. Stop Word Filtering – Removes common, non-informative words to highlight meaningful content. Users can also add custom stop words.
3. Frequency Threshold Control – Lets users set a minimum frequency for words to be displayed in the cloud.

• Step 1: Create dashboard – To create word cloud widget create a new dashboard or in an existing go to Step 6.



• Step 2: Select blank dashboard – Choose a blank dashboard layout as the starting point for adding your word cloud widget or in an existing go to Step 6.



• Step 3: Add widget – Click on “Add Widget” to begin inserting visual elements, such as the word cloud, into your dashboard



• Step 4: Select your widget – Choose the Word Cloud widget and link it to a specific open-ended survey question to visualize key terms from respondent feedback.



• Step 5: Select survey and survey question – Select the relevant survey and then choose a text-based (open-ended) question. The Word Cloud widget supports only text question types to generate meaningful visualizations from respondent verbatim.



• Step 6: Select word cloud widget – From the list of available widgets, select Word Cloud to create a visual representation of the most frequently used words in responses to the selected text question.



• Step 7: Change setting for word cloud widget – Click on the three-dot menu (⋮) on the Word Cloud widget to access and customize settings such as minimum word count threshold, excluded words (stop words), and other visualization preferences.



• Step 7a: Change setting for minimum no of words – Users can define a minimum word count threshold to ensure that only verbatim responses containing a sufficient number of words are included in the word cloud visualization. This serves as a quality control measure to maintain the relevance and reliability of the word cloud output.



• Step 7b: Change setting for stop words – Users can specify words they wish to exclude from appearing in the word cloud. These are commonly referred to as 'stop words'—terms that are either irrelevant, overly frequent, or non-informative (e.g., 'the', 'and', 'it'), and are typically removed to enhance the clarity and significance of the visualization.



• Step 8: Final word cloud widget – The final word cloud widget displays the most frequently occurring and relevant terms from the selected verbatim responses, based on applied filters and settings. It offers a visual summary of key themes, enabling quick insights into common topics and sentiments expressed by respondents.

• Threshold – Minimum frequency a word must appear to be included in the word cloud.
